Dustin Cox is one of the most exciting and experienced leaders to enter the race, particularly in a time when executive and budget experience is so important to the state of Arizona. As the Executive Director of a major non-profit, Dustin has experience managing a budget and staff with a statewide mission and an eye to national operations. Dustin's vision and leadership has led one of Arizona's most prominent non-profits, Anytown Arizona and Anytown America, to prosperity and the most promising future in decades.
Not only is Dustin experienced, but he is a proven community leader that cares about the issues that affect Arizonans the most: Education, Healthcare, and Green Job Creation.
"We should be investing in our state's largest economic engines: our public universities and community colleges. That's the way out of this recession. Every Arizonan should have the right to a quality public education, period.
I also believe that every hard working Arizona family should have the right to a family doctor. Never should a sickness bankrupt a person or their family.
Finally, if you want to see Arizona prosper as it never has before, then we should be creating Green Jobs in this state. Where else in the U.S. is there a better place to build a solar economy?
There's no more basic responsibility of the elected officials of our great state than to ensure that we have an educated, healthy, and employed citizenry. It's time we lived up to our responsibilities."
If you believe that Arizona can do better, then come out to support Dustin Cox's campaign for the State House of Representatives!
We'll see you on February 14th at 5:30PM!

Introducing our New Website!
By Dustin Cox
Welcome to our campaign blog! This is where you will find important updates about the campaign, our district (27), important happenings in the state, as well as my views on current events. Check this part of our website for regular updates and to find out what's going on in our race to the capitol!
For my first post, I just want to answer the question I've been hearing most when talking to people about my run for the State House of Representatives from LD27: "Haven't you seen what's going on up there? Why in the world would you want to get involved in THAT mess?" Well, "that mess" is precisely why I want to get involved in the first place. I don't shirk from a challenge. In fact, my Great Grandpa Ralph "Huck" Finn always told me that, "Anything worth doin' ain't easy." I've generally found that to be true as those words from Grandpa Finn ring through the years to give me perspective today. This work ain't easy, but I'm up to the task.
Arizona is in desperate need of leadership and more progressives to stand up to the shenanigans going on in Phoenix. Our state and citizens are worse off than we were than before Governor Brewer and the GOP-led legislature took our state down this path with little-to-no forethought or consideration of us regular Arizona citizens. It's harder to find a job - and it's even harder to just KEEP a job right now. It's harder to find health insurance. And it sure is harder to get a good education and a fair shake. Something has to change.
I see a brighter future for all of us Arizonans if we commit to doing what's right and the hard work ahead of us. I'm here to tell you that I'm committed to doing the work, and I appreciate you considering my candidacy to be one of your next state representatives from Legislative District 27.
Please visit us here to find out what is happening with our campaign and where you can get involved. Remember, if you have specific questions or would like to see me blog about a particular topic, you can click on the "Ask Dustin" tab of the website to submit your question.
